Galen Marek, code-named Starkiller, is a powerful Force-sensitive character from the Star Wars Expanded Universe. He first appeared in the video game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
Born to a Jedi Knight who hid from the Empire, Marek's potential was discovered by Darth Vader. Taken as Vader's secret apprentice, Starkiller was trained in the dark side of the Force and tasked with hunting down surviving Jedi.
Vader intended for Starkiller to be a weapon against Emperor Palpatine, but ultimately betrayed him. Starkiller's actions inadvertently led to the formation of the Rebel Alliance, sacrificing himself to ensure their survival in one of the possible endings of The Force Unleashed.
